Welcome

Hi, I’m Justice!

I am a Colorado-born, Bay Area-based fiber artist whose journey with stitching together fabric began at five when my artist mother taught me to sew matching outfits for myself, my teddy bear and American Girl Doll. I’ve been figuring out how to make my dream clothes ever since. After receiving a degree in Fashion Journalism and then working in the tech and cosmetic industries as a Creative Designer for a few years, I now work out of a studio in San Francisco where I spend my days making colorful, whimsical, nature and dream inspired fiber art - art for adorning bodies and walls.

Being born and raised amongst the Rocky Mountains, I have always felt a profound connection to the rhythms of nature. I am eternally inspired by the beauty of the natural world around me as well as within our hearts and minds in the realms of dreams, prayers and magic. Each stitch I make is infused with intention and love, weaving together threads of creativity and spirituality to craft pieces that resonate with the soul.

A practice centered in play and growth:

At the heart of my practice lies a deep reverence for the transformative power of art. Through my own self healing journey I have found that a really wonderful way to access my authentic self is through the grounding nature of play. When I play, I am fully in the here and now and am able to be fully present in my body. It is then when I am able to listen to my intuition, feel safe and trust myself. From this sense of safety and trust I am able to let go of the stories that grip my mind, heart and spirit and lean into my more authentic, higher self.

When I am sewing, I am playing. And when I am playing, I am healing. Through my creations, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own creativity, to dream boldly, and to weave their own stories into the fabric of existence.

Mindfully Made

“Do no harm”. I believe this intention should apply to all practices, not just the medical field. As I create, I keep my deep reverence for the Earth and all its inhabitants close to my heart and mind. Each piece I make is crafted from natural fibers - primarily linen - sourced as sustainably and ethically as I can find it. I am committed to fair labor and while I am a self employed artist and make each piece myself, that means making sure that I am paid a living wage and am taking care of my mind and body. As much as possible, I aim to support other small businesses and my local community by being intentional about where I source my materials and how I spend my money.

When you wrap yourself in one of my creations, each little detail is made with intention, care and love.

  • All ordering is done through my website: threadandsprout.com

I occasionally have shop updates of made-to-order designs, ready-to-ship pieces, and fiber art. You can also request a custom order.

Questions about your order, tutorial links, or custom orders, please email info@threadandsprout.com

  • Yes! Please do! I love when people are inspired by me and/or my work to make things themselves. That being said, please do not make things directly inspired by my work to sell or profit off of. I do offer a few tutorials for making your own Thread + Sprout inspired things - please check them out!

  • Items in ready-to-ship and made-to-order shop updates can be shipped to the US and Canada. US shipping is $10 and Canadian shipping is $20. These include made-to-order items, ready-made items, and art.

Custom orders can be shipped almost everywhere in the world. For custom orders going to somewhere in the US and Canada, you will work with us on a design and then place your order through a private page on the website and pay for shipping there. If you live outside of the US and Canada and are placing a custom order, you will receive a PayPal invoice after we finalize the design to pay for the piece, shipping, and customs/VAT fees if applicable. International customers will be responsible for paying for the actual cost of shipping and customs fees (you will be given an estimate before receiving the invoice so there is no surprise). International shipping is new to us so please be patient as we work out the quirks :)
