When we are centered in ourselves and rooted in our bodies, it becomes easier for creativity to flow through us. Stuckness is part of the process — but trying to think your way out rarely works.

Movement helps us find our way through.

“The benefits I've felt in my body from just setting aside time almost every day (even just that 20 minute mini-flow is a gift) has kept me consistent…I'm really appreciating how movement for makers is helping me live in my aging body right now, and to be grateful for what I am able to do.”

find your flow

In Movement for Makers, we drop into our bodies and meet ourselves where we are.

We ease sore muscles, take big deep belly breaths, release tension, and practice presence.

We stretch our minds as much as our bodies — so we can return to our creative practices with more attention, presence, and openness.

FAQs

  • These classes are for you if you: have a body and use that body.

You do not need to consider yourself a maker or a creative to join these classes! We are all inherently creative. We all make something. Sometimes we create paintings or clothes, and sometimes we develop lesson plans or prepare dinner for our families. The creative spark is in us all - we are all born with it, we all have it as kids, and even when it feels dim as we get older, it is still there. Moving mindfully and joyfully and getting centered in our bodies can be one pathway to help re-ignite that creative spark!

  • I teach a vinyasa style yoga class that also incorporates some hatha yoga (more alignment based), some dancing, some pilates, and some just intuitive human movement!

  • Yes absolutely! Movement for Makers classes are open to movers and makers of all levels. I aim to provide thorough instruction so that you don’t get lost if you’ve never practiced yoga before while keeping it fresh if you’re a seasoned practioner :)

  • All you really need is your body and some comfy clothes you can move in!

    Other things that are helpful:

    • a yoga or exercise mat

    • a small pillow or bolster

    • blocks (if you don’t have foam blocks, water bottles and thick books can also work)

    • water to keep yourself hydrated

  • The live classes are held on Zoom, usually twice a week on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am PT and Thursday afternoons at 4:30 pm PT.

  • Your membership includes access to the full class replay library as well as a library of mini flows to do on your own! So you can move when it works best for you :)

  • The Movement for Makers membership is $25 a month. Feel free to join at anytime and leave at anytime!

Sign up for emails to try it out for $10 for the first month.

take a break

A simple 10-minute yoga flow to warm up your body and find presence with your breath before, during, or after diving into a creative project.

I have been practicing yoga since I was a freshman in high school, when my mom started taking me to help with chronic hip pain and anxiety. Since then it has been a regular part of my life. Practicing yoga is a large part of my creative process - from helping me to ease the pain of a long day at the sewing machine to calming my mind when the thoughts start to race. I received my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training from Folk Yoga SF and am certified with the Yoga Alliance.

Thank you for being here! I am excited to meet you on the mat.
