Trusting Myself

$540.00
sold out

A quilted wall hanging featuring a protective hand with an all-seeing eye in the palm. A reminder to trust your intuition and gut. You can trust yourself.

This piece is all about sinking into presence and trusting myself. I think that many of us struggle with trusting ourselves, listening to our gut and believing in our inner voices. From what I am learning in my own recovery process, this is particularly true for those of us with trauma. For me, something that helps me to trust myself is when I am able to feel present in my body. And a big thing that allows me to feel that embodiment is working with my hands. When I work with my hands, whether sewing, painting, knitting or cooking, it brings me to the present and allows me to feel safe here which then makes it a lot more possible for me to listen to my intuition and see things clearer.

23 x 29”

Materials: linen fabric, cotton batting, cotton thread, wood dowel and cotton rope for hanging

This wall quilt is made of fabric scraps - little leftover pieces from other projects that are too small to be used for other clothes. Fabric scraps that could have very easily ended up in the trash. But instead, they are joined together to make something beautiful. A little reminder, that every little thing can be, and often is, part of something bigger and beautiful. And for me, and maybe for you too, a gentle reminder that even if I feel like a useless little scrap, I too am part of something bigger and beautiful that I might not be able to see yet.
