Introducing the Thread + Sprout Dance Pants!

These pants were inspired by my desire to have a pair of pants that I could wear to yoga classes, ecstatic dance, and then to the coffee shop or the studio. Pants that are comfy and spacious but not too big and oversized, that can move with me and fit and feel good no matter how my body is fluctuating. Extra points if they are cute and simple to make!

These pants include:

  • a slight barrel leg shape

  • a tapered waist

  • a dropped crotch

  • an elastic and/or drawstring waistband

  • a slightly cropped length

  • deep, anchored side seam pockets that can hold all of my trinkets

  • designed for woven fabrics (but works with knits too!)

This pattern is pretty beginner-friendly, with the only real tricky part being the pockets.

The Dance Pants Pattern includes sizes XXS - 5X (fits hips that are ~33-65” but the sizing is very flexible)

This is a PDF sewing pattern, available to download immediately after purchase. Once downloaded, you will be able to print the pattern either at home or at a copy shop. Instructions and options for printing the pattern are laid out in the pattern instructions PDF.

The instructions also include a video sew-along for you visual learners - the link to the video is on the second page of the instructions :D
