starting with uncertainty
I have had this idea for a big project I want to do. A big, time consuming project that brings up all sorts of fears of failure and imposter syndrome.
I have wanted to create an oracle deck where the imagery for the deck are wall hangings representing a specific word…
And what a better place to start than with “uncertainty”.
what sewing has taught me
I have come back to sewing again and again for the past 25 years. It has been a tether in my life. Something I can hold onto. Something that reminds me of who I am. Something that brings me back to my body. Something that brings me deep joy and awe.
what I mean by 'magic' ✨
When I speak of magic, I mean a few different things. First, there is the magic of everyday life and the world around us. Magic as wonder and awe, mystery and miracle, romance and enchantment. The fact that we exist feels like magic to me. The existence of mycelia, of baby birds, of hot chocolate, of waves, of black holes, of changing leaves. These things are magic. They are also nature and science.
