Skill Level
The Jitterbug Jumpsuit pattern is a beginner-friendly pattern. It is best for ambitious beginners to advanced sewists. The trickiest parts are the pockets and the neckline and the armhole binding. The video sew-along may be helpful if you are newer to sewing or are a visual learner!
Sizing + Fit Info
The intended fit is slightly oversized with a bit of a dropped crotch (that will hit around mid to upper thigh). The length is intended to be ankle-length, and the armholes are cut deep on the sides. This pattern is drafted for a 5’7” (170 cm) person. The Jitterbug Jumpsuit is a pull-on style, meaning there are no buttons, zippers, or closures included in the construction. This might mean that you have to do a little shimmy to pull it up over your hips.
You will find the size chart below that includes the sizes based on your body measurements and then the finished garment measurements below that. Please refer to both charts to pick a size that is going to give you the fit that you want. If you are between sizes, I recommend choosing the larger of the two sizes. You can also always grade between sizes. The pattern includes shorten/lengthen lines and instructions for a variety of common fit adjustments you might choose.

Fabric Needs
This pattern is designed to work with lightish to mid-weight woven fabrics. Plain weave linen, tumbled cotton, or a chambray would work great! It is not specifically designed to work with knit fabrics or stretchy wovens, but it would probably work, so have fun, mess around, and find out what happens!
A more structured fabric, like a cotton twill or mid-weight canvas will show off the shape of the barrel legs whereas something lighter or with more drape will be more flowy.
How much will you need?
The amount of fabric you need will depend on which size you are making as well as the width of your fabric and if the fabric has a pattern or weave that needs to go in a particular direction. If you make customizations to the pattern, this will also impact the amount of fabric needed. Keep those considerations in mind when deciding how much fabric to get. Also remember that fabric can shrink when you pre-wash it.
Please note: Due to the size of the pattern pieces, I do not recommend using 44” wide fabric for this pattern. The amounts listed here err on the side of “too much” rather than risking not having enough. If you are using pre-made bias tape for the bias binding or contrast fabric for the pockets, you will need slightly less than what is listed here.
